Community Gatherings was a pilot program created by our EMPRESS founder Paula Duran in late 2019. The event traveled to 6 key cities in the U.S. and gathered over 200 influential voices and chosen leaders from these cities. The experiences were created with and by the community and curated entirely to meet local needs. The invite-only event generated a strong impact causing meaningful organic social media traction from the attendees and leading to local collaborations. The event became an official format used across Red Bull’s marketing and media departments. When the pandemic hit, the event successfully adapted to online gatherings and continues to impact and evolve as a digital event.

Paula headed Red Bull Amaphiko, a global launchpad for grassroots social entrepreneurs. She supported over 100 grassroots social entrepreneurs and creatives with projects, storytelling, and personal development. She oversaw and managed the creation, strategy, business planning, in-person experiences, partners, success measurements, and impact initiative progress. With her expertise, the global program evolved to meet local needs better and was executed in four continents and over ten states in the US.
